The first wedding I was ever asked/encouraged to photograph was for a close friend of mine. Nikki and Charles got married at Cliveden House, and Annie was in attendance that day (she’s Charles’ niece). Fortunately, she remembered us and got in touch to ask about our availability and I was delighted to say I was free and more that ready for their big day.
Amazingly, they’d chosen the same reception venue (Caswell House) as Ella & Stu, who I photographed a few months earlier - before this, I’d never had the chance to shoot at the same venue more than once, so I was really excited that I could try and capture their day in a slightly different way.
Annie and the girls stayed at an amazing cottage in the nearest village and so had a wondeful space to prepare ahead of the big day, from there they added the finishing touches at the bridal suite at Caswell.
The weather was fantastic, clear blue skies and warm summer sun - the wedding ceremony was held at St Marys Church in Bampton; as it turns out the church has featured in the TV series Downton Abbey, so was full of character and made for an incredible venue to get married in. The afternoon was back at Caswell and was another wondeful occassion, with guests all in the mood to party!
