Kelly & Joe's wedding...

Sometimes things just work out exactly the way they were supposed to.

A good friend of mine recommended me to Kelly after he was unavailable for the date - I honestly couldn’t have felt luckier; a wedding in the Lake District, right next to Lake Windermere!

The location was one thing, but this couple was another level, they were so kind, thoughtful and honestly were a dream to spend the day with. From the initial contact with kelly, I felt like we were old mates and following meeting up for a chat, a walk and a few tester photos, I just knew we were in for a brilliant day.

The couple, based on the South Coast, had chosen a wonderful venue - full of character and charm which would play host to a real close family and friends occasion. Kelly and the girls arrived the night before to settle in and then prepare, and the guys stayed nearby with family. Although the forecast had been erratic, to say the least, come the day there was nothing but blue skies and sunshine.

Everything went to plan, (including the quick reshuffle of ceremony location in the morning), and I know both the couple and guests were delighted with the way it all went. Even with a fantastic venue, I couldn’t resist taking a wander to the lake to see if we could grab a few shots by the lake and on my adventure I stumbled upon something that kinda summed up the day. I took a quick drive to a nearby roadside spot, which from the outside, looked like a shut down store with a pier out the back, as I popped my head round to see, a gentleman sitting on his balcony at the back of the properly asked if he could help me - when I revealed I was trying to find a secluded spot to take some photographs with the newly-weds he just said that was absolutely fine - so off I went to grab Kelly and Joe.

When we came back and started to access the pier, the man and his wife (who was previously inside), joined us on the pier and had opened a bottle of bubbly for the couple to have! Just that random act of kindness typified the day for me and I just felt so lucky to have been there to share their day.

The wedding was brilliant; Izzy, the couples’ Husky, walked Kelly down the aisle and was so well behaved all day - you’d have never known there was a dog in attendance at all. The ceremony was lovely, (if not a little warm, especially for Joe and the guys in their three-piece suits), and the wedding breakfast, speeches and evening celebrations were all fantastic too - keep an eye out for the hill rolling...

Congratulations Kelly and Joe!!
