I can’t begin to explain how much I enjoyed this wedding - over the past few years I have become good friends with Lucas and Becca and when I was asked to photograph their wedding I was a mix of excitement and nerves.

Lucas is an amazing professional photographer and Becca is making huge strides in her own photography career (as well as being a dental nurse, mother and all-round superwoman!)

Along with a huge chunk of the engaged population their wedding plans were forced to be postponed, however, this didn’t dampen any of their excitement and passion to have the best day possible. Whilst the numbers were still under the limits set, they had most of the friends and family they wanted to be in attendance for their big day and what a day it was!

Starting early, we headed over to the Alexandra Court Hotel in Congleton, which was a perfect venue and one that Lucas knew could work for what they wanted. When we arrived, the bridal party had started with hair and makeup and the mood was amazing. Laughter filled the room and we felt so welcome by everyone and so we started work.

Luckily, Sophie Mort (amazing photographer, go check her out!), had kindly agreed to assist on this occassion and she spent most of the morning with Becca and the girls and got some wonderful shots - I managed to get down and hang out with Lucas, his father, nephew and close friend and everything was just so relaxed and enjoyable. By the time the ceremony was due to start, the sun was fully out and it got pretty warm!

Walked down the aisle by her father, Becca looked stunning and the smile on Lucas’ face was one that would not leave his face for the rest of the day. A beautiful outdoor ceremony made way for more fun and laughter as the drinks flowed and the kids started enjoying the lawn games and before we knew it we were inside for food and speeches.

As the evening began, we whisked the bride and groom off for a bit of a break - taking them to a location I’d spotted in the morning as we scouted for potential places before parking at the venue. And as the sun set, we got the most amazing couple session and I think we were all pretty pleased with the results.

Lucas and Becca returned to their wedding and we slipped away to leave them to enjoy the rest of their evening, but I couldn’t wait to get stuck into the editing!

Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Vale.
