Netherlands Beach Wedding - Kiarna & Roman

Kiarna got in touch to ask me to capture her wedding and I was so pleased - knowing that she’s a travel addict, this was always going to be something different.

They’d chosen a beach in the Netherlands and it was all set to be unforgettable!

Kiarna and I go back a few years now - I first met her when I was working for Like Minds, where Kiarna still works (albeit after a couple of breaks), I got to talk and know her a little better following her first break from work when she headed off to tour Australia and South America. Once she returned, through a personal project I was doing, I got the chance to find out more about what she got up to and hear some of the tales from her travels - she’s so passionate about experiencing the world and it’s truly inspiring!

When I first got the call I was so excited, however I did have a slight issue around the travel arrangements as I needed to be back for a wedding in England the following day - but that’s what evening flights are for, right?

I headed over to Amsterdam a couple of days prior to the wedding to get settles, experience a bit of Holland for myself and I was being supported by Sophie, who was flying in from Rome where she’s secured a sunrise elopement - it’s starting to become pretty exciting doing these weddings you know!

Once we’d met up and had a day around Amsterdam, we headed to the coast to prepare for Kiarna and Roman’s big day. They’s chosen a beachside venue called Club Zand at Castricum and they’d chosen to get ready together at Hotel het Oude Raadhuis, which was about 10 mins drive from the beach - it was also about 40 mins bike ride from the beach which was how the couple and most of the guests were travelling! Kiarna mentioned that getting a taxi back from Club Zand in the early hours of the following morning would be tough, so bikes were the answer.

On the day, the couple looked amazing - Kiarna had chosen a white jump-suit and was so excited to be sharing the day with her friends and family. As they got ready, it was wonderful to see them together, something that’s a little uncommon for weddign preparations, but it really made things seem more special. The weather was SCORCHING and it really made the beachside ceremony worth it - there was a light breeze coming in and the drinks were flowing, a wonderful ceremony led by one of their closest friends made it all seem so intimate and relaxed, which was something they were desperate to have.

Following their amazing ceremony and drinks reception, the guests all enjoyed a BBQ dinner as their wedding breakfast and the party went on long into the night.

Congratulations Kiarna & Roman!
